Your phone or the Windows app can turn speech into text by itself. In the web app, our AI provider in the EU turns the audio into text. Then we delete the audio.

We delete the audio after we turn it into text
The phone and the Windows app can keep your audio off our servers. Download the transcription model. Then turn off Transcribe in the cloud. Without the model, they send the audio to our servers. The web app always sends the audio to our servers. If the Windows app cannot turn the audio into text, it tells you. Then it sends the audio to our servers. If you turn on the live transcript in the Windows app, it sends short audio clips to our servers while you record. The lock steps happen only when Private transcripts is on. The web app can lock a transcript only after your phone or the Windows app makes your key. Until then, we store web transcripts unlocked, like your notes.
Your devices keep the key.
Each transcript gets its own lock. One key opens them all. That key stays on your devices. We cannot read your transcripts without it.
You get a recovery code by email
When you turn on Private transcripts, we email the code to you. If you lose your devices, the code opens your transcripts again. Keep that email safe.
You approve each new device
Approve it on a device that has the key. Both screens show the same six-digit code.
You turn on Private transcripts yourself, in Settings on the phone or the Windows app. It stays off until you do.
If you lose all your devices and your recovery code, your locked transcripts stay locked forever. You cannot open them. We cannot open them either.
We can read some things. We cannot read others.
When Private transcripts is on, we cannot read your transcripts. We can read your summaries. We need them so search and sharing work on all your devices.

- Titles, summaries and the notes you write
- Action items, decisions and folders
- Your account and billing details
- What you said, while we write your notes
- Your mood, supplements and medication in the Journal, if you sync your Journal
We cannot read
- Your locked transcripts
- Your saved Ask Parley chats
- Your recordings, because we do not keep them
- Your voice profile, because it never leaves your phone
This is how it works when Private transcripts is on. When it is off, we store transcripts and chats unlocked, like your summaries.
We don't keep your audio. You decide when to delete your notes.
Most AI notetakers keep the key. Parley Notes gives it to you.

It needs 64-bit Windows. If Windows warns you, choose More info, then Run anyway.
Mac
The Mac app is coming soon. For now, use the web app in any browser on your Mac.
Web app
You do not need to install anything. Read your notes, record calls and ask questions in your browser.
